As some of you may have learned from reading my About section, I used to work in an office setting; in the accounting department to be more specific. Professional attire was a must. Quickly, I learned how to put outfits together that looked professional, and were simple and stylish.
Before I get into the outfit details though, let me first point out that the accounting department rocks! Not only is it an essential part of a company but crucial to the survival of any business. Many of you may picture a group of boring and nerdy people when someone says accounting but let me tell you; accountants know how to have fun. If you work in an office setting and you are not in the accounting department, I challenge you to go talk to those people. They are full of knowledge and you may actually learn something new that you can apply in your own field.
Now let’s get to the juicy part. Although I wore many different outfits during my time working, unfortunately, I don’t have photos of all of them. Here are seven stylish and simple office looks you can rock any day of the week.
BLACK & WHITE CLASSIC
Black and white! What a lovely, simple and beautiful combination. I wore this outfit when I had an important meeting or presentation. I kept the makeup simple and my hair down.

FLORAL PRINT STATEMENT
Florals are always in style and especially in the summertime. With this outfit, I combined a strong floral print with a solid color blouse that matched the color pattern of the cardigan and pencil skirt. I tucked in the blouse to highlight my waistline. A neutral beige shoe color works best with dark-colored pieces and floral prints that are busy. I pulled my hair back and into a soft bun so that my dark hair didn’t overwhelm the floral print.

NAVY BLUE PENCIL SKIRT & BEIGE WEDGES
Navy blue and green are always a great combination. These two colors go so well together that I believe you can’t go wrong when you pair a navy blue bottom and a green blouse. Keep the shoe color neutral as the bottoms are already dark.

WINTER LAYERS WITH A SIMPLE UTILITY JACKET
A utility jacket comes in handy because it is not thick but it provides warmth. In an office building with AC, it gets cold so a light jacket kept me from nearly freezing to death. Ha. The bottoms are black jeans so I wore this outfit on our casual days.

ORANGE POP OF COLOR & STRAP HEELS
Simplicity. It’s is so easy and hard, at the same time, to achieve. An orange top for a pop of color, the same navy blue pencil skirt used in other outfits and high heel strap sandals. That is it. Nothing complicated about this outfit. I accessorized of course with a long necklace not pictured here.

CABLE KNIT SWEATER & STATEMENT NECKLACE
Winters in Texas are a bit unpredictable. On the days the temperature drops to what I consider cold, I take these beautiful cable knit sweaters out for a spin. They look lovely layered. Coupled with comfortable loafers and a statement necklace and my look is complete.

LEOPARD STATEMENT SHOES AND WHITE DRESS PANTS
Leopard print always makes a statement, however, it is sometimes difficult to tone it down and not make it look trashy. No offense to my leopard print fans. This particular print in my personal experience was intimidating so I paired it with two neutrals. I spiced up the outfit with a long necklace not pictured here.
OUTFIT DETAILS
These seven outfits have a consistent foundation, a neutral color. A neutral color ensured me an outfit that flowed well and looked professional. I’ve repeated these seven outfits many times and gotten so many compliments. I hope you find them helpful and inspirational. Find other outfit inspiration here. As always, I am here if you have any questions so feel free to send me an email. So tell me, what is one office fashion item you can’t live without?
