Wait, Abril, you’re doing what? Yes, you read that right and here is how we are feeling about moving to Germany.
It’s incredible how fast the days go by. The older I get, the faster life moves. One thing I’ve learned is that life is ever-changing. We are often presented with opportunities that help us grow. Some are scary, and others are challenging, but they can provide great satisfaction and expand our thinking (if we give them a chance)!
EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME
We are sitting on the floor looking at half-packed boxes; Cecil and I are reflecting on how we feel about the decision we made to move to Germany. First of all, WOW! what a fantastic opportunity to experience Europe firsthand as a resident. (I mean just look at this) It feels unreal, and I still cannot believe we decided to fearlessly jump. We are moving to Germany, (Eeeek!) a part of the world that is entirely unfamiliar to us, and we are both feeling nervous. Mainly because it is a considerable change compared to our lives now. Scared doesn’t even begin to describe it because we have no idea what to expect. Anxiety is high on the list because we have a very long to-do list. But part of me is beyond thrilled. I can’t even contain my excitement.
On the other hand, Cecil is more worried about logistics and how this is going to actually happen. He is more concerned than I am, but things always work out.
LIFE UPSIDE DOWN
Moving is so much work, you guys! The house is upside down. We prepped, planned, packed, and attended parting parties with family, friends, and colleagues. I admit that trying to get as much done while we are still here is exhausting. Between the lack of sleep and routine, Cecil and I have had attacks of giggles and looked at each other, baffled. Finally, we said yes, let’s move to Europe. A few times, Cecil has looked at me with a face of panic like, “What have we done?” Good times! One thing is for sure, we made this decision together, and we will have each other lean on in times of struggle and joy.
Accurate description of us during move-day!
PRAY FOR US
The people surrounding us have been incredible supporters and cheerleaders throughout this journey. We are truly blessed to have wonderful parents, families, friends, co-workers, and great movers. Although we are so sad to be moving away from all the people we love, we are thrilled about this new adventure. It’s the best one yet! After all, to travel is to live.
*Please keep us in your prayers!
If you found this post shocking and you know someone going through the same thing, share it with them so they know they are not the only ones scared. Life-changing decisions are scary (and thrilling, yay!), and we all need all the support we can get.
Thank you so much for reading!
